"For Those Who Are Too Busy"
Luke 8:4–15
Have you ever had this experience? You were too busy to tidy up — and then you couldn't find what you needed, and it ended up costing you even more time.
Or worse: you thought you'd save time by eating while driving, and you got into an accident. Or the oil-change warning light came on in your car, but you didn't have time to go to the shop — and it broke down, costing you far more time and money in the end.
In behavioral economics, this is described as scarcity breeding scarcity. For example, one of the issues facing the world today: poor people buy junk food because it's cheap — and end up getting sick, which costs them even more money. You've seen those small packets of shampoo, right? Apparently, most people in the slums of the Philippines use them, because they're cheap. But if they saved up and bought a large bottle, they'd come out ahead. Yet because they don't have the money now, they buy the small packet. The same goes for so many other things. That's why they can't save money. They can't escape poverty. Scarcity breeds scarcity.
The reason I bring this up is because I'm sure many of you are busy. You don't have enough time. You have too much to do.
I believe this busyness is one of the great problems facing the Japanese church — and Christians in Japan.
What shall we do? Today, I believe the Bible will once again shed light on our lives.
Scripture Reading — Prayer
1. The Seed Sprouts and Bears Fruit
◆ The Seed and the Fruit
What is the seed? — Verse 11: the Word of God (the sermon, the Bible). It holds extraordinary potential. The Word of God will one day sprout in your heart and bear fruit.
What is the fruit? — Depending on context: character, the salvation of others, the results (fruitfulness) that God expects of us. God has sown seed in the soil of who you are, and has continued to pour water in the form of love and grace. The fruit is what appears as God's desire takes shape in your life. It doesn't happen overnight — but as you trust God and keep waiting, it will surely manifest as concrete change in your life.
◆ Becoming a Person of Rich Fruit
God wants you to become a person of rich, abundant fruit.
Blessed is the one… whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. — Psalm 1:2–3
There is a Japanese actor whose name I find beautiful: Matsuzaka Tori (松坂桃李).
His name comes from a saying in Shiji (Records of the Grand Historian), a Chinese historical text:
桃李不言、下自成蹊 "The peach and the plum do not speak, yet people gather beneath them, drawn by the beauty of their blossoms and fruit — and a path forms naturally below."
In the same way, a person of true character naturally draws others to them. That is the kind of person I hope you will become.
God sows seed — His Word — so that we might become fruitful people. This Word illuminates and guides our path. But there is a problem. Not with the seed. With the soil.
◆ The Problem of the Soil
The problem is on our side. Some seed fell on the path — trampled, hardened soil. Packed down by the values of society and the age. And the devil comes and eats up the seed that was sown.
Some seed fell on rocky ground — even harder. It cannot take root. The seed is not the problem. The soil is.
And today, I want to focus on what comes next — verse 14.
2. The Seed That Fell Among Thorns
◆ What Is the Condition of Our Hearts?
A well-known preacher once said something striking: "If you live in a wealthy country, don't assume your heart is good soil. Almost certainly, your heart is thorns."
So many things distract us. So many things pull our eyes away from what truly matters. And because of them, we are too busy.
We should actually have more time. Society has become increasingly convenient; things that once took great effort can now be done easily. But did you know that people are actually sleeping less? What do modern people do with the time they've carved out of sleep? They're on their phones. Scrolling. Some people even sleep with their phones. There are now "smartphone prisons" (¥1,319 including tax) being sold.
"But the seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature." — Luke 8:14
Too busy, hearts stolen away by so many things — and no fruit is produced.
◆ Scarcity Breeds Scarcity
What happens when we are too busy? What happens when something takes over our hearts?
Say you have a report due tomorrow. Suddenly, everything non-urgent gets pushed aside — exercise, sleep, proper meals.
For busy people, this is always happening. Things they know are important, but not urgent: cleaning, reading that would help them grow, studying, exercise. "Someday, when I get around to it…"
But as they keep putting things off, that scarcity produces even greater scarcity. Not cleaning means they can't find things. Not reading means no growth. Not exercising means doctor's visits that eat up even more time.
Scarcity breeds scarcity.
The same thing is happening in our faith lives.
For some it's Bible reading. For others it's parenting, passing on the faith, their marriage (they've talked about getting counseling), prayer, character, an important decision, family relationships.
They know it's important. But because it's not urgent, it gets pushed back. Even when a message speaks to it, even when God prompts them in prayer — there's always something else demanding their attention. The thorns keep filling in. The fruit never comes.
So what do we do?
3. Becoming Good Soil
Before the Seed Is Sown
◆ Remove What Doesn't Belong
What would happen if a farmer, because they were busy, simply left the weeds? Even if they sow seed, a good harvest would be hard to expect — the weeds absorb all the nutrients.
What are the weeds draining your energy? What are the thorns in your life?
Many people, because they are busy, put off even thinking about this. But take time to reflect:
What are your thorns?
What is keeping fruit from forming in your life?
What is pulling your eyes away from what truly matters?
Take a moment to consider that now.
Remove the things that are getting in the way.
◆ Till the Soil
In particular, before the Word is sown, the soil needs to be well tilled. Concretely: pray. Pray before the worship service. Rather than rushing in frantic and distracted, take a moment to be still. Is there anything gripping your heart? If so, entrust it to God.
After the Seed Is Sown
Verse 15
◆ Guard It Well
Hearing alone is not enough for growth. It goes in one ear and out the other. Two things are recommended:
① Write it down. The Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve tells us we forget 77% of what we've learned within a week.
② Act on it. This is the most important of all.
Jesus said:
"But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete." — Luke 6:49
What will you do with what you've heard today?
Even if you forget the message — if you act, it becomes part of your life. If you don't act, your life doesn't change. The fruit won't come.
◆ Adopt a Long-Term Perspective
Sow seed today and find fruit tomorrow — that's not how it works. It takes time. The Word is sown, you hold it, you keep acting on it — and then:
"…it came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown." — Luke 8:8
Patience is required.
A long-term perspective is essential — because there is always a time lag.
I often tell the children: "Studying is worth ¥40,000 an hour." Not that I'll actually pay them — but if studying 1,000 extra hours as a student raises your annual income by ¥1,000,000, and you work for 40 years, that's ¥40,000,000. Divide that by the 1,000 hours that produced it: ¥40,000 per hour.
In other words, every hour of procrastination costs you ¥40,000.
The same may be true of our faith lives. By not doing what we should, by pushing back what truly matters — how much loss are we bringing into this life, and into eternity's reward?
I do not want to stand in heaven and say: "I knew it was important, but I just didn't do it." "I knew what I should have done, but I was too busy."
The mature person is the one who can keep their eyes on long-term reward. Let us become people who can wait for eternal reward — for God desires that you bear a hundredfold fruit, that you become a person of rich, abundant harvest.
The thorns that surround us today. The countless temptations. The busyness. The endless list of things to do.
And yet — we want to treasure what truly matters. We don't want to be tossed about by the trends and pressures of the age. We want to choose, for ourselves, what is truly important.
For me, my relationship with God is the most important thing.
Jesus laid down His life for the sake of that relationship.
If we keep our eyes on long-term reward — cherishing what truly matters each day, walking in a living, vibrant relationship with God — then when the time comes, you will see a rich harvest.

更嚴重的例子——有人以為邊開車邊吃飯可以節省時間，結果出了車禍；或是機油警示燈亮了，卻因為沒時間去修車廠，最後車子壞掉，花了更多的時間和金錢。
行為經濟學等領域將此稱為**「匱乏產生匱乏」**。舉例來說，現今世界面臨的問題之一：窮人因為便宜而購買垃圾食物，結果生病，花費反而更多。你見過那種小包裝洗髮精嗎？據說在菲律賓的貧民窟裡，大多數人都使用那種小包裝，原因就是便宜。但若存錢買大瓶的，其實更划算。然而因為當下沒有錢，只能買小包裝。其他事情也是如此。所以更存不了錢，無法脫離貧窮。匱乏產生匱乏。
我之所以提起這些，是因為我相信你們許多人也很忙碌。時間不夠用，待辦事項堆積如山。
我認為，忙碌正是日本教會與基督徒所面臨的一大問題。
我們該怎麼辦？今天，我相信聖經將再次照亮我們的人生。
讀經——禱告
1. 種子發芽，結出果實
◆ 種子與果實
種子是什麼？ ——第11節：神的話語（講道、聖經）。它蘊藏著巨大的可能性。神的話語終將在你心中發芽，結出果實。
果實是什麼？ ——依上下文而定：品格、他人的得救、神對我們所期待的結果（結實）。神在你這片土地上撒下種子，持續澆灌愛與恩典之水。果實，就是神的心意在你生命中具體成形的樣子。這不是一朝一夕之事——但當你信靠神、持續等候，必定會在你的人生中看見具體的改變。
◆ 成為結實纍纍的人
神希望你成為一個果實豐盛的人。
他喜愛耶和華的律法，晝夜思想，這人便為有福！他要像一棵樹栽在溪水旁，按時候結果子，葉子也不枯乾；凡他所做的盡都順利。 ——詩篇 1:2–3
有一位日本演員的名字，我覺得非常美：松坂桃李。
他的名字源自中國史書《史記》中的一句話：
桃李不言，下自成蹊
「桃樹和李樹不開口說話，但人們被它們的花朵和果實所吸引，自然聚集而來，樹下便自然形成了一條小路。同樣，有品格的人，身邊自然會聚集人群。」
願你也能成為這樣的人。
神賜下種子——祂的話語——為要使我們結出豐盛的果實。這話語照亮我們的道路，引導我們前行。然而，問題存在。不在種子，而在土壤。
◆ 土壤的問題
問題在我們這一方。有些種子落在路旁——被踩硬的土地，被社會與時代的價值觀所踐踏壓實。撒但隨即而來，吃掉了那撒下的種子。
有些種子落在岩石上——更加堅硬，無法生根。問題不在種子，在土壤。
今天我要特別關注的，是接下來的內容——第14節。
2. 落在荊棘中的種子
◆ 我們的心是什麼狀態？
一位著名的講道者曾說過一句發人深省的話：「如果你住在富裕的國家，不要以為自己的心是好土。幾乎可以肯定，你的心就是荊棘。」
太多事物分散我們的注意力，讓我們的眼睛離開真正重要的事。就是這些事物，使我們太過忙碌。
我們本應擁有更多時間。社會日益便利，許多事情與從前相比都變得更加簡單。但你知道嗎，現代人的睡眠時間其實在減少。現代人用省下來的時間做什麼呢？滑手機、刷動態。有些人甚至和手機一起睡覺。市面上甚至出現了「手機監獄」（含稅1,319日圓）這樣的商品。
「那落在荊棘裡的，就是人聽了道，走開以後，被今生的思慮、錢財、宴樂擠住了，結不出成熟的果子來。」 ——路加福音 8:14
太忙碌，心被各種事物奪走，以致無法結出果實。
◆ 匱乏產生匱乏
當我們過於忙碌時，會發生什麼？當某件事佔據了我們的心，會發生什麼？
比如說，明天有份文件要交。這時，一切不緊急的事都會被推後——運動、睡眠、好好吃飯。
忙碌的人，這種情況持續不斷。那些他們知道很重要、卻不緊急的事——比如打掃、對將來有益的閱讀、學習、運動——都被放到「以後再說」。
然而，一再拖延之下，那份匱乏帶來了更大的匱乏。不打掃，就找不到東西；不閱讀，就無法成長；不運動，就要花更多時間看醫生。匱乏產生匱乏。
同樣的事也發生在信仰生活中。
對某些人來說是讀聖經，對另一些人是教養兒女、信仰的傳承、夫妻關係（曾想過去輔導）、禱告、品格、重要的決定、家庭關係。
他們知道這很重要。但因為不緊急，就被推後了。即使講道觸動了他們，即使禱告中有所感動，卻總有其他事情要應付。荊棘不斷蔓延，果實無法成熟。
那麼，我們該怎麼辦？
3. 成為好土
種子撒下之前
◆ 除去多餘的東西
試想，如果農夫因為忙碌而放任雜草生長，會怎樣？即使撒下種子，也難以期待豐收——雜草會吸走所有養分。
什麼雜草正在吸走你的精力？你生命中的荊棘是什麼？
許多人正因為忙碌，連思考這件事都往後推。但請花時間捫心自問：
你的荊棘是什麼？
什麼阻礙了果實在你生命中成形？
什麼讓你的眼睛離開了真正重要的事？
請花一點時間思考。
除去那些成為阻礙的事物。
◆ 耕耘土地
尤其在話語撒下之前，需要充分耕耘土地。具體而言，就是禱告。在敬拜前禱告。與其匆匆忙忙地趕來，不如先靜下心來——是否有什麼佔據著你的心？若有，就將它交託給神。
種子撒下之後
第15節
◆ 好好守住
光是聆聽不足以帶來成長，那只是左耳進、右耳出。有兩件事值得推薦：
① 寫下來。 艾賓浩斯遺忘曲線告訴我們，一週後我們會忘記77%所學的內容。
② 付諸行動。 這是最重要的一點。
耶穌說：
「但那聽見不去行的，就像一個人在地上蓋房子，沒有打根基，河水一沖，房子立刻倒塌了，並且毀壞得很厲害。」 ——路加福音 6:49
今天聽到的，你會採取什麼行動？
即使忘了這篇信息——只要你行動，它就會成為你生命的一部分。 若不行動，生命不會改變，果實也不會結出來。
◆ 持有長遠的眼光
今天撒種，明天就結果——那是不可能的。這需要時間。話語撒下，你守住它，持續行動——然後：
「……結實百倍。」 ——路加福音 8:8
需要忍耐。
長遠的眼光不可或缺——因為總有時間差存在。
我常對孩子們說：「你們讀書的時薪是4萬日圓。」當然不是真的付給他們——但如果學生時代多讀1,000小時，年收入能增加100萬日圓，工作40年就是4,000萬日圓，除以那1,000小時，就是時薪4萬日圓。
換句話說，每拖延一小時，就損失了4萬日圓。
同樣的道理，也許也適用於信仰生活。因為沒有做該做的事，因為將真正重要的事一再推後，我們在這一生、乃至永恆的賞賜上，究竟招致了多大的損失？
我不想在天堂說：「我知道那很重要，但我就是沒去做。」「我知道該做什麼，但我太忙了。」
能夠仰望長遠賞賜的人，才是成熟的人。 願我們成為能夠等候永恆賞賜的人——因為神渴望你結出百倍的果實，成為果實豐盛的人。
圍繞我們的荊棘、各樣的試探、忙碌、堆積如山的待辦事項。
儘管如此——我們想要珍惜真正重要的事。我們不想被時代的潮流所左右。我們要親自選擇，什麼才是真正重要的。
對我而言，與神的關係是最重要的事。
耶穌為了這段關係，獻出了自己的生命。
若我們能以長遠的眼光等候賞賜，每天珍惜真正重要的事，在與神活潑生動的關係中同行——那麼，時候到了，你必看見豐盛的果實。

Pagbabasa ng Kasulatan — Panalangin
1. Ang Binhi ay Sumusupling at Nagbubunga
◆ Ang Binhi at ang Bunga
Ano ang binhi? — Talata 11: ang Salita ng Diyos (ang mensahe, ang Biblia). Naglalaman ito ng kamangha-manghang potensyal. Ang Salita ng Diyos ay susupling sa iyong puso at magbubunga sa tamang panahon.
Ano ang bunga? — Depende sa konteksto: karakter, ang kaligtasan ng iba, ang mga resultang (pagiging mabunga) inaasahan ng Diyos mula sa atin. Naghasik ang Diyos ng binhi sa lupain ng iyong pagkatao, at patuloy na nagbuhos ng tubig sa anyo ng pag-ibig at biyaya. Ang bunga ay ang kalooban ng Diyos na kumukuha ng hugis sa iyong buhay. May isang Hapones na artista na naganda sa akin ang pangalan: Matsuzaka Tori (松坂桃李).

At ngayon, nais kong bigyang-pansin ang susunod — talata 14.
2. Ang Binhing Nahulog sa mga Tinik
◆ Ano ang Kondisyon ng Ating mga Puso?
Sinabi ng isang kilalang mangangaral ang isang nakaka-ugnaw na bagay: "Kung ikaw ay naninirahan sa isang maunlad na bansa, huwag mong ipalagay na ang iyong puso ay mabuting lupa. Halos tiyak na ang iyong puso ay mga tinik."
Napakaraming bagay ang nagpapagambala sa atin. Napakaraming bagay ang pumipigil sa ating mga mata mula sa tunay na mahalaga. At dahil sa mga bagay na ito, tayo ay sobrang abala.
Dapat ay mas marami tayong oras. Ang lipunan ay lalong nagiging maginhawa; maraming bagay na dati ay mahirap gawin ay madali na ngayon. Ngunit alam mo ba na ang mga tao ngayon ay lalong kumukukulang ang tulog? Ano ang ginagawa ng mga modernong tao sa oras na nalikha nila mula sa pagtulog? Nagse-scroll sa telepono. May mga taong natutulog pa nga kasama ang kanilang telepono. May mga "bilangguan ng smartphone" (¥1,319 kasama ang buwis) na ibinebenta na ngayon.

◆ Ang Kakulangan ay Nagbubunga ng Kakulangan

Sabihin nating may ulat kang dapat isumite bukas. Biglang lahat ng hindi kagyat ay itinatalikod — ehersisyo, tulog, tamang pagkain.
Para sa mga taong abala, ito ay palaging nangyayari. Mga bagay na alam nilang mahalaga, ngunit hindi kagyat: paglilinis, pagbabasa na makakatulong sa kanila, pag-aaral, ehersisyo. "Balang araw, kapag may oras na ako…"
Ngunit habang patuloy nilang itinatampo, ang kakulangan na iyon ay nagbubunga ng mas malaking kakulangan. Hindi paglilinis ay nangangahulugang hindi makita ang mga bagay. Kahit na may mensaheng tumawid sa kanila, kahit na may nararamdamang pagpapahiwatig sa panalangin — palagi na may ibang bagay na nangangailangan ng kanilang pansin. ◆ Alisin ang Hindi Kailangan
Isipin mo, paano kung ang isang magsasaka, dahil siya ay abala, ay hayagang mag-iwan ng mga damo? Kahit maghasik pa siya ng binhi, mahirap asahan ang mabuting ani — sisipsip ng mga damo ang lahat ng sustansya.
Ano ang mga damong sumisinop ng iyong enerhiya? Ano ang mga tinik sa iyong buhay?
Maraming tao, dahil sila ay abala, ay itinatampo pa nga ang pag-iisip tungkol dito. Ngunit maglaan ng oras upang pagnilayan:
Ano ang iyong mga tinik?
Ano ang pumipigil sa pagbubunga sa iyong buhay?
Ano ang nakaaagaw ng iyong mga mata mula sa tunay na mahalaga?
Maglaan ng sandali upang pag-isipan ito ngayon.
Alisin ang mga bagay na nagiging hadlang.
◆ Bungkalin ang Lupa
Lalo na, bago ihasik ang Salita, kailangang mabuting bungkalin ang lupa. Sa kongkretong paraan: manalangin. Manalangin bago ang pagsamba. Sa halip na dumating nang nagmamadali at naguguluhan, maglaan ng sandali upang tumahimik — may bagay bang kumakapit sa iyong puso? Kung mayroon, itrao iyon sa Diyos.

◆ Ingatan Ito nang Mabuti
Ang pakikinig lamang ay hindi sapat para sa paglago. Papasok sa isang tainga at lalabas sa isa pa. Dalawang bagay ang inirerekomenda:
① Isulat ito. Sinasabi ng Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve na nakakalimot tayo ng 77% ng ating natutunan sa loob ng isang linggo.
② Kumilos batay dito. Ito ang pinakamahalaga.
Sinabi ni Jesus:
"Ngunit ang nakikinig at hindi sumusunod ay katulad ng isang taong nagtatayo ng bahay sa lupa nang walang pundasyon. Nang hampasin ng baha ang bahay na iyon, agad itong bumagsak, at ang pagkawasak nito ay malubha." — Lucas 6:49
Ano ang gagawin mo sa narinig mo ngayon?
Kahit makalimutan mo ang mensahe — kung kikilos ka, magiging bahagi ito ng iyong buhay. Kung hindi ka kikilos, ang iyong buhay ay hindi magbabago. Ang bunga ay hindi darating.
◆ Magkaroon ng Pangmatagalang Pananaw
Maghasik ngayon at makita ang bunga bukas — hindi ganyan gumagana. Tumatagal ito. Ang Salita ay naitanim, iniingatan mo ito, patuloy kang kumikilos — at pagkatapos:
"…namunga nang isang daang butil." — Lucas 8:8
Kailangan ng pasensya.
Ang pangmatagalang pananaw ay mahalaga — dahil palagi may pagtagal.
Madalas ko sinasabi sa mga bata: "Ang inyong pag-aaral ay nagkakahalaga ng ¥40,000 bawat oras." Hindi naman talaga sila binabayaran — ngunit kung ang pag-aaral ng 1,000 karagdagang oras bilang estudyante ay magpapataas ng taunang kita ng ¥1,000,000, at magtatrabaho ka nang 40 taon, iyon ay ¥40,000,000. Hatiin iyon sa 1,000 oras na nagbunga nito: ¥40,000 bawat oras.
Sa madaling salita, bawat oras ng pag-aatubili ay nagpapababa ng ¥40,000.
Maaaring ganoon din sa ating buhay pananampalataya. Sa pamamagitan ng hindi paggawa ng dapat nating gawin, sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na pagtatalikod ng tunay na mahalaga — gaano kalaking pagkawala ang ating dinadala sa buhay na ito, at sa gantimpala sa walang hanggan?
Hindi ko gustong tumayo sa langit at sabihin: "Alam ko na ito ay mahalaga, ngunit hindi ko lang ginawa." "Alam ko kung ano ang dapat kong gawin, ngunit masyadong abala ako."
Ang taong may gulang ay siya na makatutugon sa pangmatagalang gantimpala. Nawa'y maging mga taong makakahintay ng walang hanggang gantimpala — sapagkat nais ng Diyos na ikaw ay magbunga nang isang daang beses, na maging isang taong sagana sa bunga.
Ang mga tinik na nakapalibot sa atin ngayon. Ang napakaraming tukso. Ang pagkaabala. Ang walang katapusang listahan ng mga dapat gawin.
At gayunpaman — nais nating pahalagahan ang tunay na mahalaga. Hindi tayo gustong maitaboy ng mga uso at presyur ng panahon. Nais nating piliin, para sa ating sarili, kung ano ang tunay na mahalaga.
Para sa akin, ang aking relasyon sa Diyos ang pinakamahalaga.
Ibinuhos ni Jesus ang Kanyang buhay para sa relasyong iyon.
Kung itatago natin ang ating mga mata sa pangmatagalang gantimpala — pinahahalagahan kung ano ang tunay na mahalaga araw-araw, lumalakad sa isang buhay at masigyang relasyon sa Diyos — kung gayon, pagdating ng panahon, makikita mo ang sagana at mayamang ani.

"Para Quem Está Ocupado Demais"
Lucas 8:4–15
Você já passou por isso? Estava tão ocupado que não conseguiu organizar as coisas — e depois não encontrou o que precisava, perdendo ainda mais tempo.
Ou pior: há quem pense que economizaria tempo comendo enquanto dirige, e acaba se acidentando. Ou a luz de troca de óleo do carro acende, mas sem tempo para ir à oficina, o carro estraga — custando muito mais tempo e dinheiro no final.
Na economia comportamental, isso é descrito como "a escassez gera escassez". Um exemplo: um dos problemas do mundo hoje é que pessoas pobres compram junk food porque é barato — e acabam ficando doentes, o que custa ainda mais dinheiro. Você já viu aqueles sachês pequenos de shampoo? Dizem que a maioria das pessoas nas favelas das Filipinas os usa, porque são baratos. Mas se economizassem para comprar um frasco grande, sairiam ganhando. Porém, como não têm dinheiro agora, compram o sachê pequeno. O mesmo acontece com tantas outras coisas. Por isso não conseguem economizar. Não conseguem sair da pobreza. A escassez gera escassez.
Trouxe isso porque tenho certeza de que muitos de vocês também estão ocupados. Falta tempo. Há muito a fazer.
Acredito que o excesso de ocupação é um dos grandes problemas da Igreja japonesa e dos cristãos no Japão.
O que faremos? Hoje, acredito que a Bíblia iluminará novamente as nossas vidas.
Leitura da Escritura — Oração
1. A Semente Brota e Dá Fruto
◆ A Semente e o Fruto
O que é a semente? — Versículo 11: a Palavra de Deus (o sermão, a Bíblia). Ela contém um potencial extraordinário. A Palavra de Deus brotará no seu coração e dará fruto no tempo certo.
O que é o fruto? — Dependendo do contexto: caráter, a salvação de outras pessoas, os resultados (frutificação) que Deus espera de nós. Deus semeou no solo de quem você é e continuou a regar com amor e graça. O fruto é a vontade de Deus tomando forma concreta na sua vida. Isso não acontece da noite para o dia — mas enquanto você confia em Deus e continua esperando, certamente verá mudanças concretas na sua vida.
◆ Torne-se uma Pessoa de Fruto Abundante
Deus quer que você se torne uma pessoa de fruto rico e abundante.
Bem-aventurado o homem… cujo prazer está na lei do Senhor, e que medita nessa lei dia e noite! Ele é como uma árvore plantada junto a ribeiros de águas, que dá o seu fruto no tempo certo, e cuja folha não murcha; e tudo o que ele faz prosperará. — Salmos 1:2–3
Há um ator japonês cujo nome acho muito bonito: Matsuzaka Tori (松坂桃李).
O seu nome vem de um ditado do Shiji (Registros do Grande Historiador), um texto histórico chinês:
桃李不言、下自成蹊 "O pessegueiro e a ameixeira não falam, mas as pessoas são atraídas pela beleza de suas flores e frutos e naturalmente se reúnem sob elas — e assim, naturalmente, forma-se um caminho."
Da mesma forma, uma pessoa de verdadeiro caráter naturalmente atrai outras ao seu redor. Esse é o tipo de pessoa que espero que você se torne.
Deus semeia — a Sua Palavra — para que nos tornemos pessoas frutíferas. Essa Palavra ilumina e guia o nosso caminho. Mas há um problema. Não com a semente. Com o solo.
◆ O Problema do Solo
O problema está do nosso lado. Algumas sementes caíram à beira do caminho — solo endurecido, pisoteado pelos valores da sociedade e da época. E o diabo vem e come a semente que foi semeada.
Algumas sementes caíram em terreno pedregoso — ainda mais duro. Não conseguem criar raízes. O problema não é a semente. O problema é o solo.
E hoje quero focar no que vem a seguir — versículo 14.
2. A Semente que Caiu Entre Espinhos
◆ Qual é a Condição dos Nossos Corações?
Um pregador famoso disse algo que faz pensar: "Se você mora em um país rico, não presuma que o seu coração é boa terra. Quase certamente, o seu coração é espinhos."
Tantas coisas nos distraem. Tantas coisas desviam os nossos olhos do que verdadeiramente importa. E por causa delas, estamos ocupados demais.
Deveríamos ter mais tempo. A sociedade se tornou cada vez mais conveniente; coisas que antes exigiam muito esforço agora são feitas com facilidade. Mas você sabia que as pessoas estão dormindo menos? O que as pessoas modernas fazem com o tempo que tiraram do sono? Ficam no celular, rolando o feed. Algumas até dormem com o celular. Estão vendendo agora até "prisões para smartphone" (¥1.319 com impostos).
"A que caiu entre espinhos são os que ouviram, mas, indo pelo caminho, são sufocados pelos cuidados, riquezas e prazeres da vida, e não chegam a dar fruto maduro." — Lucas 8:14
Ocupados demais, os corações roubados por tantas coisas — e nenhum fruto é produzido.
◆ A Escassez Gera Escassez
O que acontece quando estamos ocupados demais? O que acontece quando algo toma conta dos nossos corações?
Digamos que você tem um relatório para entregar amanhã. De repente, tudo que não é urgente é deixado de lado — exercícios, sono, alimentação adequada.
Para pessoas ocupadas, isso está sempre acontecendo. Coisas que sabem ser importantes, mas não urgentes: limpeza, leituras que as ajudariam a crescer, estudos, exercícios. "Um dia, quando eu tiver tempo…"
Mas enquanto continuam adiando, essa escassez produz uma escassez ainda maior. Não limpar significa não encontrar as coisas. Não ler significa não crescer. Não se exercitar significa mais tempo perdido no médico. A escassez gera escassez.
A mesma coisa está acontecendo na nossa vida de fé.
Para alguns é a leitura da Bíblia. Para outros é a criação dos filhos, a transmissão da fé, o relacionamento conjugal (pensaram em buscar aconselhamento), a oração, o caráter, uma decisão importante, as relações familiares.
Sabem que é importante. Mas como não é urgente, é adiado. Mesmo quando uma mensagem os toca, mesmo quando sentem algo na oração — sempre há outra coisa exigindo atenção. Os espinhos continuam crescendo. O fruto nunca vem.
Então, o que fazemos?
3. Tornando-se Boa Terra
Antes de a Semente ser Semeada
◆ Remova o que Não Pertence
Imagine o que aconteceria se um agricultor, por estar ocupado, simplesmente deixasse o mato crescer? Mesmo que semeasse, seria difícil esperar uma boa colheita — o mato absorveria todos os nutrientes.
Que ervas daninhas estão sugando a sua energia? Quais são os espinhos na sua vida?
Muitas pessoas, por estarem ocupadas, adiam até o ato de pensar sobre isso. Mas reserve um tempo para refletir:
Quais são os seus espinhos?
O que está impedindo o fruto de se formar na sua vida?
O que está desviando seus olhos do que verdadeiramente importa?
Reserve um momento para pensar nisso agora.
Remova as coisas que estão no caminho.
◆ Are o Solo
Especialmente antes de a Palavra ser semeada, o solo precisa ser bem arado. Concretamente: ore. Ore antes do culto. Em vez de chegar correndo e agitado, reserve um momento para se aquietar — há algo que está tomando conta do seu coração? Se houver, entregue isso a Deus.

Versículo 15
◆ Guarde com Cuidado
Apenas ouvir não é suficiente para o crescimento. Entra por um ouvido e sai pelo outro. Duas coisas são recomendadas:
① Escreva. A Curva do Esquecimento de Ebbinghaus nos diz que esquecemos 77% do que aprendemos em uma semana.
② Aja. Este é o mais importante de todos.
Jesus disse:
"Mas o que ouve e não pratica é semelhante a um homem que edificou uma casa sobre a terra, sem alicerce; quando a corrente d'água a embateu, logo caiu, e foi grande a ruína dessa casa." — Lucas 6:49
O que você vai fazer com o que ouviu hoje?
Mesmo que esqueça a mensagem — se agir, ela se tornará parte da sua vida. Se não agir, a sua vida não vai mudar. O fruto não virá.
◆ Tenha uma Perspectiva de Longo Prazo
Semear hoje e colher amanhã — não é assim que funciona. Leva tempo. A Palavra é semeada, você a guarda, continua agindo — e então:
"…e deu fruto a cem por um." — Lucas 8:8
É preciso paciência.
Uma perspectiva de longo prazo é essencial — porque sempre há um intervalo de tempo.
Costumo dizer às crianças: "O estudo de vocês vale ¥40.000 por hora." Não que eu vá realmente pagar — mas se estudar 1.000 horas a mais na época de estudante aumentar a renda anual em ¥1.000.000, e você trabalhar por 40 anos, isso dá ¥40.000.000. Divida isso pelas 1.000 horas que o produziram: ¥40.000 por hora.
Em outras palavras, cada hora de procrastinação custa ¥40.000.
O mesmo pode ser verdade na nossa vida de fé. Por não fazer o que deveríamos, por continuar adiando o que verdadeiramente importa — quanta perda estamos trazendo para esta vida e para a recompensa na eternidade?
Não quero ficar no céu e dizer: "Eu sabia que era importante, mas simplesmente não fiz." "Eu sabia o que deveria fazer, mas estava muito ocupado."
A pessoa madura é aquela que consegue manter os olhos na recompensa de longo prazo. Que nos tornemos pessoas que podem aguardar a recompensa eterna — pois Deus deseja que você dê fruto a cem por um, que você se torne uma pessoa de colheita abundante e rica.
Os espinhos que nos cercam hoje. As inúmeras tentações. A agitação. A lista interminável de coisas a fazer.
E ainda assim — queremos valorizar o que verdadeiramente importa. Não queremos ser arrastados pelas tendências e pressões da época. Queremos escolher, por nós mesmos, o que é verdadeiramente importante.
Para mim, o meu relacionamento com Deus é a coisa mais importante.
Jesus entregou a Sua vida por esse relacionamento.
Se mantivermos os nossos olhos na recompensa de longo prazo — valorizando o que verdadeiramente importa a cada dia, caminhando em um relacionamento vivo e vibrante com Deus — então, quando o tempo chegar, você verá uma colheita rica e abundante.
