"What to Do in Those 7 Days"

Acts 1:3–14; 2:1–14

Do you remember last week's message? You haven't forgotten 77% of it, have you? What are your thorns? Remove them, pray, write things down, make a decision and act. Hearing alone doesn't bring change. May your life be rich with fruit.

Watching children grow is a joy. This past Monday I cycled around Lake Kasumigaura — it took about eight hours. I thought: they've really grown. I believe God feels the same way.

I want to be someone who grows day by day. Your own intentionality matters for that — but there is also a help that is absolutely indispensable. That is the help of God the Holy Spirit.

A pastor I deeply respect wrote this in a book:

"The core of faith lies in understanding the Holy Spirit."

Today I want to talk about the Holy Spirit in a way that is easy to understand even for those who are new — and I also want to cover things that even long-time believers may never have thought about. I think the meaning of the title will become clear by the end.

1. The Holy Spirit and Pentecost

◆ The Trinity

· One God

The Bible teaches that there is one God. One of the most important passages in the Old Testament says:

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one." — Deuteronomy 6:4

Some of you might pause at this. We have God the Father. But Jesus is also God. And then there is someone called the Holy Spirit.

The word translated "one" here is the Hebrew echad — a word that carries the nuance of multiple elements coming together to form one. Like "a cluster of grapes."

· "Us"

"Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…'" — Genesis 1:26

· Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Throughout the Bible, God reveals Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the same God.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." — Matthew 28:19

These three are not a hierarchy. They are one completely unified, overlapping existence. This is what we call the Trinity.

It is therefore a mistake to think of the Holy Spirit as some kind of power or force. He is a Person — with personality. Some of you may never have thought of Him this way, but the Holy Spirit is a God overflowing with love. Just like Jesus, the Holy Spirit loves us and desires to have fellowship with us.

◆ Pentecost

Now, this God — the Holy Spirit who has existed since the beginning of the world — descended upon a gathering of Christians for the first time on the day of Pentecost.

The Shavuot in today's Scripture is a Jewish festival. In Greek, Pentecost means "the fiftieth day." Jesus was crucified during the Passover festival — and Pentecost falls fifty days after that.

During this Jewish festival, while the Christians were praying, the Holy Spirit came — and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began to speak about Jesus in foreign languages. The speakers themselves must have been astonished — but those watching around them were even more so.

At that time, Jewish people lived not only in Judea but scattered throughout the world. On that day, they had come to Jerusalem from all over the world for the festival, so a crowd gathered rapidly.

"Hey, what are they saying?" "I can understand it — they're speaking the language of the country where I live!" "They're speaking my country's language too!" "I came from the direction of Turkey…" "I'm from Egypt." "I'm from Rome."

"What on earth is happening?"

Then Peter stepped forward. That Peter — the one who had failed. The Peter who had become weak and lost his confidence. The Peter who had been afraid. He stepped forward, raised his voice, and testified about the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ: "We are witnesses of this."

The people were deeply moved.

That day, three thousand people were saved, and the church was born. That is the event of Pentecost.

And after that, the gospel spread at an extraordinary speed.

2. Let Us Receive Power

◆ Salvation, Growth, Gifts, Mission

I want us to remember that the disciples were transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works in every aspect of our faith.

Salvation is by the Holy Spirit:

"No one can say, 'Jesus is Lord,' except by the Holy Spirit." — 1 Corinthians 12:3

Growth is by the Holy Spirit:

"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." — 2 Corinthians 3:18

Gifts are by the Holy Spirit:

"All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines." — 1 Corinthians 12:11

Gifts — and beyond that, I believe God gives us strength in our work as well. There is an interesting passage in the Old Testament:

"Then the LORD said to Moses, 'See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills — to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.'" — Exodus 31:1–5

The Holy Spirit came upon a craftsman. Do you think of work and faith as separate things? I believe God blesses your work. When Bezalel was filled with the Holy Spirit, he was given wisdom and strength for his craft.

I am a fan of the basketball player Stephen Curry. He wrote the words of Philippians 4:13 on his shoes:

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." — Philippians 4:13

It is even written as "4:13" on his Under Armour collaboration shoes.

It is good to pray. "Lord, let me succeed in my work. Give me the wisdom I need. Give me strength. Let me make right decisions."

◆ Through You

Now, having looked at the importance of the Holy Spirit, there is something here I want to highlight.

Even before Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was already present within the disciples. That's right — because without the Holy Spirit, no one can believe in Jesus. So the Holy Spirit was already in them.

Then what happened on the day of Pentecost? The Holy Spirit filled them. Not just present — but filled. This is what I want us to pay attention to.

3. What to Do in Those 7 Days

◆ The Resurrection of Jesus and 40 Days

I mentioned that Pentecost falls fifty days after Passover. During Passover, Jesus was crucified. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead. After the resurrection, Acts 1:3 tells us that He "appeared to them over a period of forty days." After that, He ascended into heaven.

That brings us to 43 days: 3 days + 40 days. And the disciples received the Holy Spirit on the 50th day. So there was a 7-day gap between Jesus' ascension and the disciples being filled with the Holy Spirit and transformed.

Let us think about the condition of the disciples during those 7 days.

Did they believe in Jesus? Of course. Were they coming to gatherings of Christians? Of course. Were they praying? Of course.

But they had no power. No confidence. No joy. No peace. They could not change. There was no vibrant faith in them. They believed — but they didn't know their purpose. There was always a question mark hanging over them: "Is this really okay?" They had faith — but they were beaten down by reality.

There are surely people here today who are in exactly this state. People who are living in those 7 days.

You believe in Jesus. You encountered Jesus somewhere in your life and believed. You believe in the cross and resurrection of Jesus. But you are overwhelmed by reality. You feel like you have no strength. You are swallowed up by fear. You have no peace. Your faith is not vibrant. You cannot grow. You want to change but cannot. You long for God's glory to be seen — but it isn't happening. You see no salvation. You see no change. Aren't you, too, in those 7 days?

There is something I want you to remember. What did Jesus say?

◆ "Wait for the Promise"

Didn't Jesus say "Wait"?

"Wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about."

This doesn't simply mean sit there blankly. In the Bible, waiting is an active act. It means to wait with expectation and trust in God. And indeed — having received that promise, the disciples gathered together and prayed with one accord. God always keeps His promises. They prayed believing that He would give them the Holy Spirit.

I pray that this kind of faith will be restored within us.

"If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" — Luke 11:13

How many Christians there are who, despite this promise, are not asking. Are you asking?

Many people fix their eyes on programs and ministries. But we must not forget the core of faith.

What was it that remade the disciples? If the disciples had not sought the Holy Spirit — had not waited and longed for Him — what would their faith have looked like? They had knowledge. But no vitality. They knew. But they had not experienced it themselves.

What about you?

They sought the Holy Spirit. And in the same way, God desires us today to seek the Holy Spirit as well.

For the rest of our lives, let us keep on seeking the Holy Spirit. He is the one who will transform us. He will draw us closer to Jesus.

So let us pray: "Fill me again today." Let us be Christians who seek the Holy Spirit.

"Holy Spirit, I seek You."

今天，我想以初次來到教會的人也能理解的方式來談論聖靈，同時也想分享一些連信主多年的人可能從未思考過的事情。我想標題的意義在最後也會變得清晰。

1. 聖靈與五旬節

◆ 三位一體

· 獨一的神

聖經教導我們神只有一位。舊約聖經其中一段最重要的經文這樣說：

「以色列啊，你要聽！耶和華我們的神是獨一的耶和華。」 ——申命記 6:4

有些人可能會感到疑惑。我們有父神，但耶穌也是神，而且還有所謂聖靈神的說法。

這裡所用的「獨一」，希伯來文是 echad——這個詞帶有「多個元素聚合而成為一體」的含義，就像「一串葡萄」一樣。

· 「我們」

「神說：『我們要照著我們的形像、按著我們的樣式造人。』」 ——創世記 1:26

· 父、子、聖靈

在聖經中，神以父、子、聖靈三種位格顯現——是同一位神。

「所以你們要去，使萬民作我的門徒，奉父、子、聖靈的名給他們施洗。」 ——馬太福音 28:19

◆ 五旬節

這位神——從創世之初就存在的聖靈神——第一次降臨在一群基督徒身上，就是在五旬節那天。

今天經文中出現的「五旬節」，是猶太人的節期，希伯來文稱為 沙布阿特（Shavuot），希臘文「Pentecost」的意思是「第五十天」。耶穌被釘十字架是在逾越節期間，從那天起算第五十天，就是五旬節。

在這個猶太節期中，基督徒們正在禱告，聖靈降臨，他們被聖靈充滿，開始用外國語言講說耶穌的事。說話的人自己也大感驚奇，但更驚奇的是周圍旁觀的人。

當時，猶太人不只住在猶太地，而是分散居住在世界各地。那天，他們從世界各地聚集到耶路撒冷來守節，於是人群迅速聚攏。

「喂，他們在說什麼？」 「我聽得懂！他們說的是我所在國家的語言！」 「他們也在說我國家的話！」 「我從土耳其那邊來的……」 「我從埃及來。」 「我從羅馬來。」

「這到底是怎麼回事？」

這時，彼得站了出來——那個曾經失敗的彼得，那個變得軟弱、失去自信的彼得，那個曾經膽怯的彼得——站了出來，放聲見證耶穌基督的十字架與復活：「我們都是這些事的見證人。」

眾人心裡深受感動。

那一天，三千人得救，教會誕生了。這就是五旬節所發生的事。

此後，福音以驚人的速度廣傳開來。

2. 讓我們領受能力

◆ 救恩、成長、恩賜、宣教

我們要記住，門徒的改變是聖靈工作的結果。聖靈在我們信仰的每一個層面上都在工作。

救恩出於聖靈：

「若不是被聖靈感動的，也沒有能說『耶穌是主』的。」 ——哥林多前書 12:3

成長出於聖靈：

「我們眾人既然敞著臉，得以看見主的榮光，好像從鏡子裡返照，就變成主的形狀，榮上加榮，如同從主的靈變化的。」 ——哥林多後書 3:18

恩賜出於聖靈：

「這一切都是這位聖靈所運行的，隨己意分給各人的。」 ——哥林多前書 12:11

恩賜——不僅如此，我也相信神在我們的工作上賜下力量。舊約聖經中有一段有趣的記載：

「耶和華曉諭摩西說：『看哪，猶大支派中，戶珥的孫子、烏利的兒子比撒列，我已經提他的名召他來。我也以神的靈充滿了他，使他有智慧、聰明、知識，能做各樣的工，能想出巧工，用金、銀、銅製造各物，能刻寶石，可以鑲嵌，能雕刻木頭，製造各樣的物件。』」 ——出埃及記 31:1–5

聖靈降在了一位工匠身上。你是否認為工作與信仰是兩回事？我相信神也祝福你的工作。比撒列被聖靈充滿時，在工作上得到了智慧與力量。

我喜歡籃球運動員史蒂芬·柯瑞，他把腓立比書4:13的話寫在球鞋上：

「我靠著那加給我力量的，凡事都能做。」 ——腓立比書 4:13

可以禱告：「主啊，讓我在工作上成功。給我所需的智慧，給我力量，讓我做出正確的判斷。」

◆ 藉著你

關於聖靈的重要性，我們已經看了一些，但這裡有一件事我想特別關注。

在五旬節之前，聖靈就已經在門徒們裡面了——對吧？因為若不靠聖靈，就不能相信耶穌。所以聖靈已經在他們裡面了。

那麼，五旬節那天發生了什麼？聖靈充滿了他們。不只是「在其中」，而是**「充滿」**。這正是我想要我們注意的地方。

3. 那7天該做的事

◆ 耶穌的復活與40天

我說過，五旬節是從逾越節起算第五十天。逾越節時，耶穌被釘在十字架上；第三天，耶穌從死裡復活。復活之後，使徒行傳1章3節記載，祂「在四十天之久向他們顯現」。此後，祂升上了天。

加起來是43天：3天＋40天。而門徒們領受聖靈是在第50天。因此，從耶穌升天到門徒被聖靈充滿、生命被改變，中間有7天的空窗期。

讓我們想一想，門徒們在那7天裡的狀態。

他們相信耶穌嗎？當然。他們有來參加基督徒的聚會嗎？當然。他們在禱告嗎？當然。

但他們沒有能力。沒有自信。沒有喜樂。沒有平安。無法改變。那裡沒有活潑的信仰。他們雖然相信，卻不知道自己的使命。心裡總帶著一個問號：「這樣真的可以嗎？」有信仰，卻被現實所打倒。

今天在座的人當中，一定有人正處於這樣的狀態——正活在那7天裡。

你相信耶穌。你在人生的某個時刻遇見了耶穌，並且相信了。你相信耶穌的十字架與復活。但你被現實所壓倒。你感到自己沒有力量。你被恐懼所吞噬。你沒有平安。你的信仰不夠活潑。你無法成長。你想改變卻改變不了。你渴望神的榮耀得以彰顯，卻做不到。你看不到救恩，看不到改變。你是否也正活在那7天裡？

有一件事我希望你記住。耶穌說了什麼？

◆ 「等候那應許」

耶穌不是說「等候」嗎？

「要等候我父所應許的，就是你們從我口中所聽見的。」

這不是叫你漫無目的地發呆等待。在聖經中，「等候」是一種積極的行為——是帶著對神的期待與信靠而等望。事實上，他們也真的領受了那個應許，一同聚集，同心合意地禱告。神必守住祂的應許。他們就是相信神會賜下聖靈而禱告的。

我祈願這樣的信心能在我們裡面得到恢復。

「你們雖然不好，尚且知道拿好東西給兒女，何況天父，豈不更將聖靈給求他的人嗎？」 ——路加福音 11:13

有這樣的應許，卻不去求告的基督徒竟然如此之多。你有在求告嗎？

很多人的眼睛都放在事工和服事上。但我們不能忘記信仰的核心。

是什麼重塑了門徒？如果門徒們不尋求聖靈，不等候祂，他們的信仰會是什麼樣子？他們有知識，卻沒有活力。他們知道，卻沒有親身經歷。

你呢？

他們尋求了聖靈。同樣地，神今天也渴望我們尋求聖靈。

在往後的人生中，讓我們繼續尋求聖靈。是祂要改變我們，使我們更靠近耶穌。

所以讓我們禱告：「今天也求你充滿我。」讓我們成為尋求聖靈的基督徒。

「聖靈啊，我尋求你。」

"Ngunit ang iisang Espiritu ang gumagawa ng lahat ng mga bagay na ito, na ibinahagi sa bawat isa ayon sa kanyang sariling kagustuhan." — 1 Corinto 12:11

Mga kaloob — at higit pa riyan, naniniwala ako na binibigyan din tayo ng Diyos ng lakas sa ating trabaho. May isang kawili-wiling talata sa Lumang Tipan:

"Pagkatapos ay sinabi ng Panginoon kay Moises: 'Tingnan mo, pinili ko si Bezalel na anak ni Uri, na anak ni Hur, ng lipi ni Juda. Pinuno ko siya ng Espiritu ng Diyos, na may karunungan, pag-unawa, kaalaman, at sa lahat ng uri ng mga gawa, upang makagawa siya ng mga artistikong disenyo para sa gawa sa ginto, pilak at tanso, upang mag-ukit ng mga bato para ilagay, mag-ukit ng kahoy, at gumawa ng lahat ng uri ng mga gawa.'" — Exodo 31:1–5

Bumaba ang Espiritu Santo sa isang manggagawa. Itinuturing mo ba ang trabaho at pananampalataya bilang magkahiwalay na bagay? Naniniwala ako na pinagpapala ng Diyos ang iyong trabaho. Nang mapuno si Bezalel ng Espiritu Santo, binigyan siya ng karunungan at lakas para sa kanyang gawain.

Mahilig ako sa basketball player na si Stephen Curry. Isinulat niya ang mga salita ng Filipos 4:13 sa kanyang sapatos:

"Kaya ko ang lahat ng bagay sa pamamagitan niya na nagbibigay sa akin ng lakas." — Filipos 4:13

Nakasulat pa nga ang "4:13" sa kanyang collaboration shoes kasama ang Under Armour.

Mabuting manalangin: "Panginoon, hayaan Mong magtagumpay ako sa aking trabaho. Bigyan Mo ako ng karunungang kailangan ko. Bigyan Mo ako ng lakas. Hayaan Mong gumawa ako ng tamang mga desisyon."

◆ Sa Pamamagitan Mo

Ngayon, matapos tingnan ang kahalagahan ng Espiritu Santo, may isang bagay dito na nais kong bigyang-pansin.

Kahit bago pa ang Pentekostes, ang Espiritu Santo ay naroroon na sa loob ng mga alagad — tama ba? Dahil kung wala ang Espiritu Santo, walang makakasampalataya kay Jesus. Kaya ang Espiritu Santo ay nasa kanila na.

Kaya ano ang nangyari sa araw ng Pentekostes? Pinuno ng Espiritu Santo ang mga ito. Hindi lamang "naroroon" — kundi "pinuno." Ito ang nais kong bigyang-pansin natin.

3. Ano ang Dapat Gawin sa Loob ng 7 Araw na Iyon

◆ Ang Muling Pagkabuhay ni Jesus at ang 40 Araw

Sinabi ko na ang Pentekostes ay ang ika-limampung araw mula sa Paskuwa. Sa panahon ng Paskuwa, si Jesus ay ipinako sa krus. Sa ikatlong araw, si Jesus ay muling nabuhay. Pagkatapos ng muling pagkabuhay, sinasabi ng Mga Gawa 1:3 na "nagpakita sa kanila sa loob ng apatnapung araw." Pagkatapos noon, umakyat Siya sa langit.

Kabuuan ay 43 araw: 3 araw + 40 araw. At ang mga alagad ay nakatanggap ng Espiritu Santo sa ika-50 na araw. Kaya naman, mayroon itong 7-araw na agwat sa pagitan ng pag-akyat ni Jesus at ng pagkapuno ng mga alagad ng Espiritu Santo at pagbabago ng kanilang buhay.

Isipin natin ang kalagayan ng mga alagad sa loob ng 7 araw na iyon.

Naniniwala ba sila kay Jesus? Syempre. Pumupunta ba sila sa mga pagtitipon ng mga Kristiyano? Syempre. Nananalangin ba sila? Syempre.

Ngunit wala silang kapangyarihan. Wala silang tiwala sa sarili. Wala silang kagalakan. Wala silang kapayapaan. Hindi sila makapagbago. Walang masiglang pananampalataya sa kanila. Naniniwala sila — ngunit hindi nila alam ang kanilang layunin. Palagi silang may tandang pananong: "Okay lang ba ito?" Mayroon silang pananampalataya — ngunit natalo sila ng katotohanan.

Tiyak na may mga tao dito ngayon na nasa ganitong kalagayan — nabubuhay sa loob ng 7 araw na iyon.

Naniniwala ka kay Jesus. Nakatagpo mo si Jesus sa isang bahagi ng iyong buhay at naniniwala ka. Naniniwala ka sa krus at muling pagkabuhay ni Jesus. Ngunit nalulunod ka sa katotohanan. Pakiramdam mo ay wala kang lakas. Nilulunod ka ng takot. Wala kang kapayapaan. Ang iyong pananampalataya ay hindi masigla. Hindi ka lumalago. Gusto mong magbago ngunit hindi kaya. Nagnanais ka na makita ang kaluwalhatian ng Diyos — ngunit hindi ito nangyayari. Walang nakikitang kaligtasan. Walang nakikitang pagbabago. Ikaw rin ba ay nasa loob ng 7 araw na iyon?

May isang bagay na nais kong matandaan mo. Ano ang sinabi ni Jesus?

◆ "Hintayin ang Pangako"

Hindi ba sinabi ni Jesus na "Hintayin"?

"Hintayin ang pangako ng Ama, na narinig ninyo mula sa akin."

Hindi ito nangangahulugang maupo lang nang walang ginagawa. Sa Biblia, ang paghihintay ay isang aktibong gawain — ito ay paghihintay nang may pag-asa at tiwala sa Diyos. At sa katunayan, matapos matanggap ang pangakong iyon, nagtipon sila nang magkakasama at nanalangin nang may isang puso. Tinutupad ng Diyos ang Kanyang mga pangako palagi. Nanalangin sila na naniniwala na ibibigay ng Diyos ang Espiritu Santo.

Nais ko na maibalik ang ganitong pananampalataya sa ating mga puso.

"Kung kaya naman kayo, bagama't masasama, ay marunong magbigay ng mabubuting kaloob sa inyong mga anak, gaano pa kaya ang inyong Amang nasa langit na magbibigay ng Espiritu Santo sa mga humihingi sa kanya!" — Lucas 11:13

Gaano karaming mga Kristiyano ang may ganitong pangako ngunit hindi humihingi. Ikaw ba ay humihingi?

Maraming tao ang nakatuon ang mga mata sa mga programa at ministeryo. Ngunit hindi natin dapat kalimutan ang kaibuturan ng pananampalataya.

Ano ang muling humubog sa mga alagad? Kung hindi humingi ang mga alagad ng Espiritu Santo — kung hindi sila naghintay at nagnais sa Kanya — ano ang magiging hitsura ng kanilang pananampalataya? Mayroon silang kaalaman. Ngunit walang sigla. Alam nila. Ngunit hindi nila ito naranasan sa kanilang sarili.

Ikaw naman?

Humingi sila ng Espiritu Santo. At sa katulad na paraan, nais ng Diyos ngayon na humingi din tayo ng Espiritu Santo.

Sa natitirang bahagi ng ating buhay, patuloy tayong humingi ng Espiritu Santo. Siya ang magbabago sa atin. Siya ang maglalapít sa atin kay Jesus.

Kaya naman manalangin tayo: "Punuin Mo rin ako ngayon." Maging mga Kristiyanong humihingi ng Espiritu Santo.

"Espiritu Santo, hinahanap kita."

Kung iyon ang pagnanasa ng iyong puso — sabihin ang Amen.

"O Que Fazer Naqueles 7 Dias"

Atos 1:3–14; 2:1–14

Você se lembra da mensagem da semana passada? Não esqueceu 77% dela, né? Quais são os seus espinhos? Remova-os, ore, escreva, tome uma decisão e aja. Apenas ouvir não traz mudança. Que a sua vida seja rica em frutos.

Título — Três Pontos

É uma alegria ver as crianças crescerem. Nesta segunda-feira, dei uma volta de bicicleta ao redor do Lago Kasumigaura — levou cerca de oito horas. Pensei: ele realmente cresceu. Acredito que Deus sente o mesmo.

Quero ser alguém que cresce dia a dia. A sua própria intencionalidade é importante para isso — mas há também uma ajuda que é absolutamente indispensável. Essa é a ajuda de Deus o Espírito Santo.

Um pastor que muito respeito escreveu isso em um livro:

"O cerne da fé está na compreensão do Espírito Santo."

Hoje quero falar sobre o Espírito Santo de uma forma fácil de entender mesmo para os que são novos — e também quero abordar coisas que mesmo os crentes de longa data talvez nunca tenham considerado. Acredito que o significado do título ficará claro no final.

1. O Espírito Santo e o Pentecostes

◆ A Trindade

· Um só Deus

A Bíblia ensina que há um único Deus. Uma das passagens mais importantes do Antigo Testamento diz:

"Ouve, ó Israel: O Senhor nosso Deus é o único Senhor." — Deuteronômio 6:4

Alguns podem ficar confusos. Temos Deus Pai. Mas Jesus também é Deus. E ainda há o que chamamos de Deus Espírito Santo.

A palavra traduzida como "único" aqui é o hebraico echad — uma palavra que carrega a nuance de múltiplos elementos se unindo para formar um. Como "um cacho de uvas."

· "Nós"

"E disse Deus: 'Façamos o homem à nossa imagem e semelhança.'" — Gênesis 1:26

· Pai, Filho e Espírito Santo

Em toda a Bíblia, Deus se revela em três pessoas: Pai, Filho e Espírito Santo — o mesmo Deus.

"Portanto, ide e fazei discípulos de todas as nações, batizando-os em nome do Pai e do Filho e do Espírito Santo." — Mateus 28:19

Essas três pessoas não formam uma hierarquia. Elas são uma existência completamente unificada e sobreposta. Isso é o que chamamos de Trindade.

Portanto, é um erro pensar no Espírito Santo como algum tipo de poder ou força. Ele é uma Pessoa — com personalidade. Talvez você nunca tenha pensado assim, mas o Espírito Santo é um Deus transbordante de amor. Assim como Jesus, o Espírito Santo nos ama e deseja ter comunhão conosco.

◆ Pentecostes

Agora, este Deus — o Espírito Santo que existe desde o princípio do mundo — desceu sobre um grupo de cristãos pela primeira vez no dia de Pentecostes.

O Shavuot que aparece nas Escrituras de hoje é uma festa judaica. Em grego, Pentecost significa "o quinquagésimo dia." Jesus foi crucificado durante a festa da Páscoa — e o Pentecostes ocorre cinquenta dias depois.

Durante essa festa judaica, enquanto os cristãos oravam, o Espírito Santo veio — e eles foram cheios do Espírito Santo. Começaram a falar sobre Jesus em línguas estrangeiras. Os próprios falantes devem ter ficado atônitos — mas os que observavam ao redor ficaram ainda mais.

Naquela época, os judeus viviam não apenas na Judeia, mas espalhados pelo mundo inteiro. Naquele dia, eles tinham vindo a Jerusalém de todas as partes do mundo para a festa, então uma multidão se formou rapidamente.

"Ei, o que eles estão dizendo?" "Eu entendo — estão falando no idioma do país onde eu moro!" "Estão falando no idioma do meu país também!" "Eu vim da região da Turquia…" "Eu sou do Egito." "Eu sou de Roma."

"O que está acontecendo?"

Então Pedro se adiantou. Aquele Pedro — o que havia falhado. O Pedro que havia se tornado fraco e perdido a confiança. O Pedro que estava com medo. Ele se adiantou, ergueu a voz e testemunhou sobre a cruz e a ressurreição de Jesus Cristo: "Nós somos testemunhas dessas coisas."

As pessoas foram profundamente tocadas.

Naquele dia, três mil pessoas foram salvas e a igreja nasceu. Esse é o evento do Pentecostes.

E depois disso, o evangelho se espalhou em uma velocidade extraordinária.

2. Recebamos Poder

◆ Salvação, Crescimento, Dons, Missão

Quero que lembremos que a transformação dos discípulos foi pela obra do Espírito Santo. O Espírito Santo age em todos os aspectos da nossa fé.

A salvação é pelo Espírito Santo:

"Portanto, faço-vos saber que ninguém que fala pelo Espírito de Deus diz: 'Jesus é maldito.' E ninguém pode dizer que Jesus é o Senhor, a não ser pelo Espírito Santo." — 1 Coríntios 12:3

O crescimento é pelo Espírito Santo:

"Mas todos nós, com o rosto descoberto, contemplando como num espelho a glória do Senhor, somos transformados de glória em glória na sua própria imagem, como pelo Senhor, o Espírito." — 2 Coríntios 3:18

Os dons são pelo Espírito Santo:

"Mas um só e o mesmo Espírito opera todas estas coisas, distribuindo a cada um em particular como quer." — 1 Coríntios 12:11

Dons — e além disso, acredito que Deus também nos dá força no nosso trabalho. Há uma passagem interessante no Antigo Testamento:

"O Senhor disse a Moisés: 'Veja, escolhi Bezalel, filho de Uri, filho de Hur, da tribo de Judá, e o enchi do Espírito de Deus, com sabedoria, entendimento, conhecimento e em todo tipo de habilidade, para fazer projetos artísticos em ouro, prata e bronze, para cortar e engastar pedras preciosas, para trabalhar em madeira e para realizar todo tipo de artesanato.'" — Êxodo 31:1–5

O Espírito Santo desceu sobre um artesão. Você pensa no trabalho e na fé como coisas separadas? Acredito que Deus abençoa o seu trabalho. Quando Bezalel foi cheio do Espírito Santo, recebeu sabedoria e força para o seu ofício.

Sou fã do jogador de basquete Stephen Curry. Ele escreveu as palavras de Filipenses 4:13 nos seus tênis:

"Posso fazer tudo por meio daquele que me fortalece." — Filipenses 4:13

Está escrito "4:13" até nos seus tênis em colaboração com a Under Armour.

É bom orar: "Senhor, deixa-me ter sucesso no trabalho. Dá-me a sabedoria de que preciso. Dá-me força. Faze-me tomar as decisões certas."

◆ Através de Você

Agora, tendo visto a importância do Espírito Santo, há algo aqui que quero destacar.

Mesmo antes do Pentecostes, o Espírito Santo já estava presente dentro dos discípulos — certo? Porque sem o Espírito Santo, ninguém pode crer em Jesus. Portanto, o Espírito Santo já estava neles.

Então o que aconteceu no dia de Pentecostes? O Espírito Santo os encheu. Não apenas "presente" — mas "cheio." Isso é o que quero que prestemos atenção.

3. O Que Fazer Naqueles 7 Dias

◆ A Ressurreição de Jesus e os 40 Dias

Eu disse que o Pentecostes cai cinquenta dias após a Páscoa. Durante a Páscoa, Jesus foi crucificado. No terceiro dia, Jesus ressuscitou. Após a ressurreição, Atos 1:3 nos diz que Ele "apareceu-lhes durante quarenta dias." Depois disso, ascendeu ao céu.

Isso nos dá 43 dias: 3 dias + 40 dias. E os discípulos receberam o Espírito Santo no 50º dia. Portanto, houve um intervalo de 7 dias entre a ascensão de Jesus e os discípulos serem cheios do Espírito Santo e transformados.

Vamos pensar sobre a condição dos discípulos durante esses 7 dias.

Eles criam em Jesus? Claro. Eles iam às reuniões dos cristãos? Claro. Eles oravam? Claro.

Mas não tinham poder. Não tinham confiança. Não tinham alegria. Não tinham paz. Não conseguiam mudar. Não havia fé vibrante neles. Eles criam — mas não sabiam o seu propósito. Havia sempre um ponto de interrogação pairando sobre eles: "Isso está certo?" Tinham fé — mas eram derrubados pela realidade.

Com certeza há pessoas aqui hoje que estão exatamente nesse estado — vivendo naqueles 7 dias.

Você crê em Jesus. Você encontrou Jesus em algum momento da sua vida e acreditou. Você crê na cruz e na ressurreição de Jesus. Mas você está sendo esmagado pela realidade. Você sente que não tem forças. Você está sendo engolido pelo medo. Não tem paz. Sua fé não é vibrante. Não consegue crescer. Quer mudar, mas não consegue. Anseia que a glória de Deus seja manifestada — mas não está acontecendo. Não vê salvação. Não vê mudança. Você também não está naqueles 7 dias?

Há algo que quero que você lembre. O que Jesus disse?

◆ "Esperai a Promessa"

Jesus não disse "Esperai"?

"Esperai a promessa do Pai, a qual vocês ouviram de mim."

Isso não significa simplesmente ficar parado sem fazer nada. Na Bíblia, esperar é um ato ativo — significa esperar com expectativa e confiança em Deus. E de fato, tendo recebido essa promessa, eles se reuniram juntos e oraram em unidade. Deus sempre cumpre as Suas promessas. Eles oraram acreditando que Ele daria o Espírito Santo.

Oro para que esse tipo de fé seja restaurado em nós.

"Se vós, pois, sendo maus, sabeis dar boas dádivas aos vossos filhos, quanto mais o Pai celestial dará o Espírito Santo àqueles que lho pedirem!" — Lucas 11:13

Quantos cristãos há que, apesar dessa promessa, não pedem. Você está pedindo?

Muitas pessoas têm os olhos voltados para programas e ministérios. Mas não devemos esquecer o cerne da fé.

O que foi que refez os discípulos? Se os discípulos não tivessem buscado o Espírito Santo — não tivessem esperado e ansiado por Ele — como seria a fé deles? Tinham conhecimento. Mas nenhuma vitalidade. Sabiam. Mas não tinham vivenciado pessoalmente.

E você?

Eles buscaram o Espírito Santo. E da mesma forma, Deus deseja hoje que nós também busquemos o Espírito Santo.

Pelo resto das nossas vidas, continuemos a buscar o Espírito Santo. É Ele quem nos transformará. É Ele quem nos aproximará de Jesus.

Por isso oremos: "Enchei-me novamente hoje." Sejamos cristãos que buscam o Espírito Santo.

"Espírito Santo, eu Te busco."
